What Loose ends shows

Loose ends lists what is unfinished across your cards, purchases, and sales. Today that is cards without cost: cards you own that are not linked to any purchase, so their profit numbers are wrong until you record what you paid.

Add cost from the Cards page

• On Cards, the "Without cost" tab shows how many of your cards have no cost recorded. Select it to see exactly those cards.
• Select the cards that came from one buy, click Add cost, and type the total you paid. The purchase is named after the players in it. Before you confirm, the dialog says how many purchases it will create and what each card will carry.
• The purchase date is pre-filled to the first of the current month. Change it in one tap if you know the real date. It is never pre-filled to today, because that would claim you spent the money today.
• Cards that already have cost are never included, so a card can never be charged twice.

How many purchases you get

CardZen decides that from your data, so you are never asked to pick an import mode. One purchase is created for each distinct combination of date, seller, and source in what you supplied.

One number for a selection is one buying event, so it makes one purchase split across those cards. A spreadsheet with a date and seller on every row makes one purchase per row, because your file says that is how many separate buys you made. Rows sharing a date and seller make one purchase holding all of those cards.

You always see the count before anything is written, and there is one control to collapse them into a single purchase instead. That single purchase takes the earliest date in your file.

Already logged the purchase?

If the purchase already exists in CardZen, use Add to purchase instead. That links the selected cards to the existing purchase and shares its cost, rather than creating a new one.

From the card editor, choose Link manually to search your purchases. This also works for cards imported without a batch record.

Cards that cost you nothing

Select the cards and click No cost. A card that genuinely cost nothing never has to sit in the count forever, but zero is an answer rather than a way to clear a row, so you always say why.

• Pulled from a box, break, or pack you already logged? That is offered first, and it is usually the right answer. The card is not free: it carries a share of what you paid for that box, and linking it also stops the box holding money against no cards.
• Genuinely nothing? Choose gift, trade, free, or something else, and add a note if you want. CardZen records a $0 purchase carrying that reason.
• There is no skip, clear, or dismiss. The only way out without answering is Cancel, so your cost numbers never quietly get worse.
• Cards that already have cost are skipped, so a zero can never overwrite a real cost.
